HISTORY

a) Duck Duck GO
Duck Duck Go was founded by Gabriel Weinberg, a serial entrepreneur whose last venture (The Names Database) was acquired by United Online (NASDAQ:UNTD) in 2006 for $10M. Gabriel has a B.S. in Physics and an M.S. in Technology and Policy from MIT.

Duck Duck Go appears to have been initially self-funded by Mr. Weinberg. As of June, 2009 there are no reports on the Web of additional financing.

The owner of Duck Duck GO is Duck Duck GO, inc. It has officially lunch on 25 September 2008.

Duck Duck Go is a general purpose search engine and is thus a competitor to Google search, Yahoo! Search, Bing and the other general search engines.[10] At the same time, it produces its own content pages, and so also is similar to sites like Mahalo, Kosmix and SearchMe

b) Boogami

Boogami is a search engine that was developed by James Wildish, a sixteen year old college student from Kent in United Kingdom. It combines a search engine with a pixel advertising grid that appears every time someone uses Boogami to search the Internet, and for the fact that it offers free pixel advertising to charities.
James approached the Where On Earth Group and internet marketing specialists Divadani for help in launching Boogami and making it a success. As a result, the British media soon picked up on the story and with the media coverage received, Boogami quickly grew in popularity.

INTERFACE

a) Duck Duck GO

The interface of Duck Duck GO is very simple. It only has a long blank space row for searching section and we just click search to find what we have type on that blank space. There is a cute logo of Duck Dick GO which is so cute and adorable. Duck Duck GO also can be same as GOOGLE search engine because it has specific column that allow us to specify what we want to search for.

b) Boogami

Boogami interface is very different compare to Duck Duck GO. It has many small boxes that represent category that ‘netizen’ may search. It was awesome because we may get idea on what we can look at and latest offers that we can get. User only have to click on boxes related to what topic that they are searching for. However this feature makes Boogami looks messy and crowded with all those colourful boxes. Not only that, all those boxes makes Boogami heavy and has effect the speed of downloading it full page. Boogami also has search box that can be used for typing searching item on that. That makes Boogami can be used as a search engine and at the same time has a feature like web directory.

SPEED

a) Duck Duck GO

Duck Duck GO has a fast-speed in terms of displaying search result. I just wait for about 5 second to see the result of my searching subject. It was so fast.

b) Boogami

Boogami speed iss slower compare to Duck Duck GO. This is because it takes time to load the picture because the page has set up and automatically opened when we search for it. However, it is not too long because it just take about 15 seconds to fully load for the whole page.

CONSISTENCY

a) Duck Duck GO

Because Duck Duck GO only has simple layout, it is more consistence than Boogami. The advantage that obviously we can see is when we open this page. Not only that, this search engine has special feature compare to Boogami. Boogami has large font size that makes it looks different for others and it really help spectacle person to read this page.

b) Boogami

As we know, Boogami has numbers of text box display. So, it has problems on the early second on rearrange the boxes into the right order before we get the best view of that site. But, we still can get the organize page after the loading process finished.

TIME

a) Duck Duck GO

Duck Duck GO really can save user time when use it. It has special feature which we can know the meaning of what words that we are searching for. At the bottom of the word meaning, there are numbers of search result that we can choose and normally the first choice is more appropriate and has better result than others. In other words, this page really saves user times that know what they are searching for.

b) Boogami

As we know, Boogami has numbers of text box display and each boxes represent things that user may choose. This page is really suitable for people who are seeking idea for something that they want to accomplish. It also offers a great deal of promotion made by company involved.
